Anne Brookings was a missionary with the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions. She traveled to South Africa in 1929. This collection consists mainly of her correspondence to friends and family while she was abroad. Brookings wrote home on a weekly basis until 1934. After that date, there are only a few letters from 1938 and 1943. The second half of the collection consists of scrap books and photographs.
